King of The Terriers

The Airedale is the largest of the terriers and is so called "king of the terriers". Today's Airedales are approximately 50-60 pounds, give or take a few pounds. The Airedale has a dense wiry coat that is fairly allergy free for most people, they need regular brushing and grooming that can be handled by owner or groomer. They are a combination of good looks, sound temperaments, trainability and the ultimate clown. The Airedale is a loyal companion and excellent family and watch dog. They are as equally at home in your living room as they are in the field chasing rabbits or in the show ring. The Airedale is noted for their healthy, even disposition and energy. They are very intelligent but can be stubborn at times, they are noted for being diggers, great with kids, demanding of attention but I wouldn't have anything but a terrier.
